1. Who are you and why should I sign up?
  • eVolunteer.co.uk is the premier online resource for recruiting volunteers.
  • It's FREE, quick and very easy.
  • By signing up, any voluntary group can advertise voluntary positions and connect with people who want to get involved.
  • Volunteers can also signup, thereby subscribing to the newsletter and registering their interests.
  • eVolunteer.co.uk also offers headlines, books, a newsletter and many reviewed links to other great charity-oriented sites

2. Who can sign up?
  • Anyone can sign up to eVolunteer.co.uk, whether you are a voluntary agency looking for people or a volunteer looking to make a difference.
  • Voluntary groups do not have to be registered charities, although if you are, you can display your charity number on this site.
  • Anyone can sign up for at least the newsletter and register your particular interests.

3. How much does it cost?
  • eVolunteer.co.uk is FREE! and we hope to keep it that way.
  • We will endeavour to keep the service free by subsidising it with sponsorship, advertising and online book sales.
  • The earlier you sign up the longer you can be sure of using eVolunteer.co.uk or FREE

4. How do I sign up?
  • Volunteer groups can sign up to eVolunteer.co.uk by clicking here
  • Volunteers can sign up for the newsletter and register their interests by clicking here

5. How do I upload my details & positions?
  • Login to eVolunteer.co.uk from the home page, using your username and password, or sign up.
  • Submit your organisational details, an image and three categorys.
  • Then enter your positions using the 'Add a new position -->' link in the 'Positions' section.
  • The 'Messages' section is for reading responses to your adverts.
  • Remember to click 'Logout' when finished, to maintain security.
  • Find and view your organisations details using the search page

6. What happens when someone responds to an advert?
  • Volunteers respond to positions advertised by writing and sending a message from the position's page on the web site.
  • The message is emailed to the voluntary organisation and also listed when they login.
  • Once the initial contact has been made, the voluntary agency manages the relationship.

7. How do I get technical support?
  • If you have any questions or problems regarding eVolunteer.co.uk, please Contact Us.
  • Email support is FREE and there is no limit. We will be happy to help in any way we can.

8. What level of security does eVolunteer.co.uk have?
  • eVolunteer.co.uk strives to maintain the highest levels of security and data integrity for its users.
  • All credit card transactions are undertaken between you and the renown and highly respected Amazon.co.uk, with whom we are an associate.
  • eVolunteer.co.uk will never rent, sell or give away your personal details without your permission.

9. How do I advertise, sponsor you or become a 'Featured Org'?
  • Please Contact Us for banner advertising, newsletter sponsorship or 'featured organisation' rates and arrangements.

10. How do I search the database?
  • The search page lets you search by free text, browse positions by category or list organisations by name
  • Enter text such as "London and disabilities", or even "lond disab" to match all positions OR organisations in London that deal with disabilities.
  • There is no 'OR' yet, only 'AND', which is represented by 'and', 'AND', ',' or just ' '(space)

11. I have forgotten my username and password!
  • No problem, just Contact Us and as long as you can correctly answer the password prompt question, we will reset your password immediately.

12. How do I find my Multimap.com URL
  • Go to http://www.multimap.com.
  • Search for your location by entering your street address or general neighbourhood - whichever works best.
  • Copy the whole resulting URL from the location/address bar in the web browser and paste it into the 'Location' text field of the 'Edit Organisation Details' page, (after you login).

13. How can I create a 'simple link' to eVolunteer.co.uk?
  • Save the eVolunteer logo onto your machine by right clicking on:

    and save the image in the same directory as the HTML page using it (or save elsewhere and alter the HTML page accordingly).
  • Copy and paste the following HTML text into your HTML code - at the top or bottom of your page is usually best:

14. How can I link to my eVolunteer.co.uk positions from my web site?
  • Do a search for your details.
  • Copy the address (URL) from the Location bar at the top of the browser.
  • Paste this into a link e.g. <A HREF=http://www.evolunteer.co.uk/org_view.php?org_id=1>Click here for my Positions on eVolunteer.co.uk!</A> will produce: Click here for my Positions on eVolunteer.co.uk!
  • Remember, your org id will probably be different - copy the whole URL from the Location bar to be safe.
